About Us
Temenos is a Greek word for ‘sacred space’ or a piece of land marked off from common uses and dedicated to a god, a sanctuary, holy grove or holy precinct. This is a Sacred Space and The Trees at Temenos are indeed a Sacred Grove, where if you but pause a minute, they will whisper to your Soul.
Temenos Community Retreat is an outreach of Love from Temenos Church. Temenos Church honors all paths in the Swedenborgian Tradition. We are a growing community who welcomes all. We seek to be of service to the greater good. We practice what we call “radical” kindness, or just simply, “kindness”.
We present a wide variety of programs such as yoga, tai chi, sound meditations, interfaith choir, and poetry readings. We partner with community organizations seeking ways to contribute to the community.
We also have Sunday services, mid-week nature walks and meditation, bimonthly Friday Shabbat Services with the JFCC and conversations on Peace.
“Everybody can be great. Because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve... You don't have to know the second theory of thermodynamics in physics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”
– Martin Luther King, Jr.
